Only the HIGHEST compliment from you newgrounds crowd wowe
Cool short, the animation was pretty smooth and the characters were expressive , the Neck Snap could've been a bit more "animated" though.
I was expectin the drawing to be a dickbutt instead. So, consider my expectations defied.
The UI is incredibly intuitive, and the sprite work is great. And I even learned something. I love it.
Movement feels pretty slick for what it is, although ideally I'd want to see your movement carry a bit more "momentum", for example if you twist your character around while grappling you'll be able to to curve your swing rather than go directly straight. I also feel the current map doesn't take as good use of the grapple mechanic as it could but that may just be me.
I dunno why, but I just really like this game. I've play it through every once and a while I still somehow usually find something to come back to each time I replay. It's like a miniature X-Com. You get to grow and customize your troops throughout a brief yet difficult and satisfying campaign. I do feel like some quality of life changes could be made, like you being able to check health and inventory while the character is unable to move. I was also disappointing with the sniper rifle, which seemed to almost constantly miss despite it being supposedly
mathematically impossible to do so. I found the world to be pretty interesting, and I wish there was some lore or story to follow. I also feel like the characters could've had some added personality. Although their names and uniforms did give a pretty good idea of what they'd be like. I felt the graphic style and UI were alright, clean and easy to look at. Definitely worth a playthrough and I'm excited for the sequel.
Fucking loved the erie borderline horror aesthetics on the track. Only gripe is I feel like the music between 0:52-1:09 was leading to a drop that didn't really come, which is a given given that it was intended for a credits fadeout.
The simplicity of it honestly adds to it, just a sweet pose, some horns, and killer anatomy.
In the Absolute best freaking way possible, this looks likes something Krinkels would've done in the late 2007's, amped up to 11. It's like a Where's Waldo of absolute carnage, love it.
Fucking disturbing, it made my day.
